"The greatest upset in North American footbal history"
That was how the BBC comentator described the American win over Portugal today in the first round of the world cup. It was quite amazing. We were up 3-0 at half time, a score almost unheard of in soccer. We then went on to hold Portugal to only one goal in the second half, and added one own goal from a missed deflection. It didn't matter, we won. The American team was celebrating as if we'd won the whole thing. But then since we didn't win any games last time, and came in last place, this win was a great achievement.
Not much else going on here. The weather has taken a decided turn for the worst and I'm wearing sweaters again.
