Hose Pipe Ban

Every local news agency has a set of stock news stories that they pull out at certain times of the year. In Poquoson it is "why the mosquitos are so bad" or "how bad traffic is heading down to the beach." So it isn't really much of shock that the UK also has it's pet stories. Some of my favorites include "leaves on the line" preventing trains from running as they should, or "Tim Henmans wimbledon chances," or more recently, "hose pipe bans." In American that translates into watering restrictions. This year since we've seen an unusually hot (yes they use this word with temperatures in the 70s) summer the local news media decided they needed to run a piece on how we were all going to die of drought. Only to find out that we aren't going to die of drought. Sigh, I think they were all rather disappointed.

In other news Brian is here now and alergic to some sort of pollen in the air, poor boy. For those of you who are curious he'll be here for until the 25th.
