Earthquake in England?
Yep, last night I felt my first earthquake. I never thought it would happen here. At a little before 1am last night a quake hit the UK somewhere near Birmingham. It registered 4.8 on the Richter scale, and certainly shook us around a bit. Probably lasted for about 15-20 seconds. I woke up because the desk and table in my room began to squeek as they shook, then I noticed that I was moving gently. Quite strange.
I would never have known it but aparently this is rather common in the UK, and that an earthquake of this magnitude happens once every 10 years or so. Just to reassure you it was not strong enought to do even the slightest damage to anything.
