Long Days

This Saturday is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Which is always fun, but especially here at 52 degrees north latitude. While we aren't exactly in the artic circle, we are far enough north to experience some really long days. Right now the days are about 16.5 hours long.

For me this is a good thing because I'm so sensitive to sunlight that this means I'm awake much more. I routinely wake up to the sunlight at about 5am (and then roll over) and don't leave work until 7pm (when the sun is still high in the sky.) Of course all of this has a dark side as well, but with any luck I'll escape another british winter.
